Is it Spring Yet?

I am blessed to have a home studio in Bartlett and an arsenal of indoor locations around Memphis to do everything from headshot and branding to family photography year round.

But to be honest, nothing sings to my soul like getting out and shooting in my woods. The way the light changes from spring to summer and into fall. The colors. It's just an obsession with me. There is no place I love to photograph more. But right now, my woods are brown, brown, brown. And the light is harsh. It's the kind of light that makes you think it would be hot, but it's most definitely not.

But in just a few weeks, the first signs of spring will arrive. This includes the mayapple plant providing ground cover throughout the forest floor. I enjoying seeing the trees unfurl their first tender leaves in a predictable pattern based on the type of tree. Soon it will be time for spring family photos and Mother's Day will be just around the corner. Seniors for the class of 23 will be getting some last minute photos and prom photos will be here before you know it!

Winter is a good time for reflection, rest, and rejuvenation. But once the Christmas lights are taken down, I just get antsy for spring.
